The Machine That Eats Nails
A building site tears down concrete formwork after the pour. Every board carries 20–40 nails. A conventional wood crusher cannot process this material-the first nail that hits the cutting edge chips the blade. The operator stops, replaces the blade, and learns to screen the boards for nails before feeding. Hand-pulling nails from used formwork costs hours of labor per tonne.
The LLPS rotor carries 24–28 hardened alloy hammers and 4–6 hardened blades. The hammers smash the boards-impact crushing. The blades shear the wood fibers against stationary counter-blades mounted on the chamber wall. The nails take the impact. They bend. They break. They embed in the wood chips. The hardened hammer and blade surfaces survive the nails without chipping. The operator feeds nailed boards straight through.
The nails ride along in the wood chip stream. A magnetic separator-drum type or suspended cross-belt-installed above the discharge conveyor pulls the ferrous metal out automatically. The separated nails sell as scrap iron. The chip stream continues metal-free to the downstream process-chipper, grinder or pellet press-where stray metal would destroy the tooling.
The Chain Plate Feeder Swallows Full-Length Formwork
Standard formwork boards run 1.2 by 2.4 meters. Longer members reach 4 meters. A conventional crusher with a 0.5–1 meter feed opening cannot accept this material without pre-cutting. The operator cross-cuts every board on a saw bench-an extra station, an extra operator, an extra step between the pile and the crusher.
The LLPS feeds through a heavy chain plate conveyor 4.5–6 meters long and 1–1.8 meters effective width. The operator places a full-length board flat on the chain plate. The conveyor carries it into the crushing chamber. No pre-cutting. The variable-frequency feed motor controls conveyor speed, matching the feed rate to the crusher's processing capacity. The forced-feed mechanism-a row of rotating tines above the feed opening-pushes material down into the chamber and prevents oversized boards from bridging across the opening.
The PLC control cabinet interlocks the entire line: discharge conveyor starts first, then the main motor, then the feeder. Overload protection trips the feed first and stops the main motor only if the load persists. The operator runs the whole line from one panel.

The output size is set by the bottom screen aperture-coarse screens (50–100 mm) for biomass fuel, fine screens (10–30 mm) for pellet and board feedstock. Screen changes take two to four hours. All models are available with electric motor or diesel-engine-generator drive for off-grid demolition sites.
FAQ
Q: Will the nails really not damage the blades?
The hammers and blades are hardened alloy steel. Nails bend and break under the impact and shear forces without chipping the cutting edges. Coarse wire and rebar sections also process, but they accelerate hammer wear-pre-separate large metal where practical. The nails exit mixed into the chips and are removed by the downstream magnetic separator.
Q: Does the formwork need pre-cutting before feeding?
No. The chain plate feeder is 4.5–6 meters long. Standard 2.4-meter and 4-meter boards lie flat on the chain and feed directly into the crushing chamber.
Q: Electric or diesel drive-which one?
Electric: lower running cost, requires a 380 V supply, for fixed sites. Diesel (with generator set): for mobile demolition sites with no grid power. Higher fuel cost per hour, but the machine goes where the work is.
Q: What material cannot go through this machine?
Stone, concrete blocks and solid metal-the hammers are designed for wood fiber. Oversize tree stumps over roughly 500 millimeters in diameter need pre-splitting.
