Silage is essentially a process where lactic acid bacteria convert sugar into lactic acid in an anaerobic environment to achieve long-term preservation. Using a forage chopper is a crucial step in creating this ideal environment.

A. Increase compaction density, expel oxygen, and inhibit harmful microorganisms

The compaction density can be significantly increased by using a straw crusher, reaching over 750kg/m³. Oxygen is rapidly depleted, artificially creating an oxygen-deficient environment for the reproduction of aerobic putrefactive bacteria and molds, while also providing a favorable anaerobic environment for the rapid fermentation of lactic acid bacteria.

Through the intense rubbing and tearing force of the chaff cutter, more plant cell walls are physically damaged. The cell SAP rich in soluble carbohydrates (sugar) is squeezed out in large quantities and rapidly, soaking on the surface of the material, providing immediately available, high-concentration sugar and a moist living environment for lactic acid bacteria.

The grass cutter produces uniform and consistent feed raw materials, which means that the density, sugar distribution and microbial activity of the stored feed in the cellar are close to the same, making the quality of the entire silage in the cellar uniform and stable, without the situation of "mixing good and bad feed". After opening the cellar, the quality of the feed is guaranteed from top to bottom and inside to outside, which is conducive to the stability of the daily ration formula.
