Product Introduction

Lvlon makes oilseed pretreatment equipment in Henan, China. The LL drum roaster series ships to peanut oil mills in West Africa, sesame processors in East Africa, cottonseed oil plants in South Asia and soybean crushing operations in Latin America. Factory-direct pricing. Full OEM on capacity, heating type and temperature control.

Five to Eight Percent More Oil. Not From the Press. From the Cooker.

A cold-pressed oilseed yields roughly 60–80% of the oil that a properly cooked seed yields. The missing 20–40% stays trapped inside the press cake. The difference is not the press model or the press settings. The difference is what happens to the seed before it reaches the press.

Cooking oilseeds does three things in sequence. First, moisture inside the seed turns to steam. The steam pushes outward through the cell walls, softening the cellulose and hemicellulose that give the seed structure. Soft cell walls rupture more completely under the press screw. Second, the heat denatures the proteins that surround the oil bodies inside the cells. The oil droplets, previously trapped in a protein matrix, are released. Third, the oil itself thins as it heats. Lower viscosity oil flows more easily through the narrow channels that the press screw creates in the seed mass.

The enclosed drum is the mechanism that makes all three steps happen efficiently. In an open pan, the steam escapes into the air. The seeds dry out instead of cooking. The cell walls stay rigid. The proteins stay native. The oil stays thick. The press works harder and produces less. In an enclosed drum, the steam stays inside. It circulates through the tumbling seed mass. Every seed cooks in its own steam as well as the drum's conducted heat.

The cooking temperature and duration vary by seed type. Peanuts cook at 130–150°C for 25–30 minutes. Sesame runs cooler at 120–140°C for 20–25 minutes-the thinner seed coat and higher oil content need less heat to release. Cottonseed with its thick hull needs 140–160°C and 30–40 minutes. Soybean, which contains anti-nutritional factors that must be deactivated by heat, cooks at 120–140°C for 20–30 minutes. Each seed type has a window. Inside the window, oil yield maximizes. Outside it, yield drops. Too cool or too short and the seeds are undercooked. Too hot or too long and the seed surface carbonizes, creating a lubricating layer that reduces the press screw's grip.

The drum's temperature sensor feeds back to the heating system. The controller holds the drum interior within roughly five degrees Celsius of the setpoint. The operator sets the temperature for the seed type running that shift and lets the machine regulate the heat.

Sizing a Cooker for an Oil Mill

The cooker capacity must match the press capacity. A press rated at 100 kilograms per hour of seed input needs a cooker that delivers at least 100 kilograms per hour of cooked seed. Undersize the cooker and the press starves. Oversize and the cooker runs below its designed throughput, wasting energy.

Daily throughput is a more practical planning number than hourly. An oil mill processing 10 tonnes of peanuts per day and running a single 8-hour shift needs roughly 1,250 kilograms per hour of cooking capacity. That means one LL12 or two LL850 cookers running in parallel. Send us your daily seed volume and shift length. We recommend the cooker model and count.

FAQ

Q: How do I select the right model for my daily seed volume?
Divide your daily seed throughput in tonnes by your shift length in hours. Example: 12 tonnes per day, 8-hour shift → 1.5 tonnes per hour needed. LL950 (700–900 kg/h) is undersized. Two LL850 units in parallel (each 450–550 kg/h, combined 900–1,100 kg/h) or one LL12 (1,000–1,200 kg/h) gets close. Contact us with your numbers and we size the configuration.

Q: Is the temperature control precise enough to hold the cooking window for sesame?
The ±5°C control band keeps sesame within its 120–140°C cooking window. For oilseed pretreatment, this precision is sufficient. The same cooker is not suitable for applications requiring ±2°C precision, such as specialty coffee roasting.

Q: OEM minimum and customization?
One unit minimum. Capacity, heating type, control system, color and branding. Standard models ship in 15–25 working days. OEM adds 15–20 working days.
