Lvlon is a machinery manufacturer in Henan, China, building the 1TPH sawdust pellet plant for sawmills, wood pellet fuel plants and biomass processors across Asia, Africa and Latin America. As the factory, we supply wholesalers, bulk buyers, distributors and agents directly-no middle layer. In-house fabrication of every stage. One supplier, one warranty. OEM/ODM on die size and configuration, with your brand or specification. Spare parts stocked and air-freighted in 5–15 days.
Why No Crusher
Sawdust is already fine. That is the design difference that separates this line from straw and coconut shell lines. Sawmills produce wood powder as waste-the particle size is ready for pelletizing. A straw line needs a hammer mill to grind long fibers; a coconut line needs one to break tough shell. This line skips that stage entirely: one less machine, one less motor, one less maintenance item. The investment and operating cost shift to the dryer, because moisture is the real bottleneck in sawdust pelletizing.
The Dryer Is the Critical Stage
Fresh sawdust carries 30–50% moisture. Pelletizing requires 12–18%. The GX1200 rotary drum dryer-1.2 meters diameter, 12 meters long, 5.5 kW main drive, 11 kW induced-draft fan, 1.1 kW airlock-is the largest machine in the line and the one that decides throughput. The rotating drum tumbles the sawdust continuously while hot air flows through; the cyclone dust collector (SKL1000) recovers fine powder that would otherwise be lost. The dryer is sized larger than on the straw line (GX100, 1m×10m) because sawdust moisture is the controlling parameter.
The Forming, Cooling and Packing
| Stage | Equipment | Power | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drying | GX1200 drum dryer (Ø1.2m×12m) | 5.5+11+1.1 kW | 1–1.5 t/h |
| Pelletizing | MZLH420 ring die mill (die Ø420mm) | 90+2.2 kW | 1 t/h, 6/8/10 mm |
| Cooling | SKLN1.5 counterflow cooler (1.5 m³) | 0.75+1.1 kW | 3 t/h, 6–10 min |
| Packing | WDCS-50 packer | 2.2 kW | 3–4 bags/min, 5–50 kg |
The MZLH420 ring die mill runs at 150 rpm with two 165-millimeter rollers working at up to 85°C. The gear drive delivers power without the belt-slip loss of cheaper drives-about 20% more efficiency. The counterflow cooler brings 80–90°C pellets down to 3–5°C above ambient and cuts moisture from 17–18% to 12–13%-hardened, stable, ready to store. The packer seals them dust-tight and moisture-proof for long storage and sea freight.
FAQ
Q: Why no crusher on this line?
Sawdust is already fine powder-the waste product of sawmills. Straw lines need a hammer mill because straw is long fiber; this line does not. Less investment, less power, less maintenance. The dryer is bigger because moisture-not particle size-is the bottleneck.
Q: Sawdust pellet plant or straw pellet line?
Raw material decides. Sawdust and wood chips from sawmills: this line-1 t/h, no crusher, GX1200 dryer sized for high-moisture feed. Straw, corn stalk, wheat stalk: the straw pellet line-1000 kg/h, includes a hammer mill, GX100 dryer. Sawdust is fine powder-no crusher needed. Straw is long fiber-crusher mandatory.
Q: How many operators?
Highly automated-two to three operators for feeding, supervision and bag stacking. The line runs four stages in sequence with automatic packing, keeping labor cost low.
