EFB Shredder

EFB Shredder

The EFB shredder is the front-stage machine of the palm fiber pellet plant—the machine that takes empty fruit bunches and coconut shells and reduces them to 10–30 millimeter short fibers. The G series covers four models from 22 to 110 kilowatts and 1 to 15 tonnes per hour, with feed inlets up to 900×250 millimeters. A single high-speed rotor carries an extended alloy steel knife roller with a unique blade arrangement: the shear and tear forces are designed around long palm fiber, so bulky empty fruit bunches break open fast instead of wrapping around the rotor. The widened feed inlet lets large, high-volume bunches enter smoothly—no tangling, no clogging. The housing is heavy cast carbon steel; the knives and roller are quality alloy steel. The machine installs directly on a hard, level floor—no foundation works, no civil engineering, easy relocation. The short fiber it produces dries faster, grinds cleaner and determines the final pellet quality downstream. We are the manufacturer: wholesale pricing, OEM/ODM and container shipment direct from the factory.

Product Introduction

Lvlon is a machinery manufacturer in Henan, China, building the EFB shredder for palm oil mills, EFB pellet plants, biomass power plants and composting operations across Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. As the factory, we supply wholesalers, bulk buyers, distributors and agents directly-no middle layer. In-house fabrication of every stage. One supplier, one warranty. OEM/ODM on inlet and configuration, with your brand or specification. Spare parts stocked and air-freighted in 5–15 days.

The Machine Built for Palm Fiber

Empty fruit bunches are the palm oil mill's largest waste stream-and the most difficult to process. EFB fiber is long, tough and behaves like a bundle of cables: ordinary hammer mills wrap up, shredders bite but produce irregular fragments. The EFB shredder is designed around the fiber: an extended alloy steel knife roller, a larger roller diameter, and a blade arrangement that applies shear and tear force the way long fiber needs it. Bulky bunches break open and come out as uniform 10–30 millimeter short fibers.

Short Fiber Is Pellet Quality

The output of this machine decides the quality of the pellet downstream. Short fibers dry faster-more surface area, faster moisture release. Short fibers grind cleaner-hammer mills handle them without tangling. Long fiber means under-dried material and blocked crushers. The shredder is where the pellet plant's quality is set.

Model Power Capacity Feed inlet Knives Weight
G313D 22 kW 1–3 t/h 300×280 mm 6 3,100 kg
G315D 37 kW 3–5 t/h 480×200 mm 6 3,500 kg
G316D 75 kW 10 t/h 900×250 mm 6 4,500 kg
G318D 110 kW 12–15 t/h 750×300 mm 6 8,200 kg

Anti-Tangle by Design

The widened feed inlet is the first defense: large, high-volume bunches enter the chamber smoothly instead of bridging at the mouth. The extended roller and unique blade arrangement are the second: the fiber is cut and torn in the direction it feeds, so it cannot wrap. Continuous feeding without the tangle stops that plague general-purpose machines on EFB.

No Foundation, Heavy Build

The machine installs on a hard, level floor-no foundation, no civil works, easy relocation when the line moves. For overseas projects, that removes one of the longest coordination items from the schedule. The build side is heavy-duty: a thick cast carbon steel shell absorbs the impact loads of bunch shredding, and the alloy steel knives and roller hold their edge against abrasive fiber and shell.

FAQ

Q: EFB shredder or double shaft shredder?
Different feed, different output. The double shaft shredder (LL series) is low-speed high-torque shear for mixed waste-metal, wood, plastic, textiles-producing irregular fragments of a few centimeters. The EFB shredder (G series) is a single-rotor alloy steel knife roller built for empty fruit bunches and coconut shells-uniform 10–30 mm short fibers, the standard front stage of EFB pellet lines. Palm waste: EFB shredder. Mixed waste: double shaft.

Q: What is the short fiber used for?
Three routes: front-stage feed for EFB pellet plants (short fiber dries fast, grinds clean, becomes pellets for power generation and industrial boilers); direct compost or mulch; direct fuel for biomass power. The fiber quality decides the pellet quality.

Q: Does it need a concrete foundation?
No. No-foundation installation-mount on a hard, level floor, no civil works, easy to relocate. Machines weigh 3.1–8.2 tonnes; confirm floor load capacity before installation.
