Corn is tricky – high starch, medium fiber, and moisture can change a lot. So we built the Lvlon series corn hammer mill to handle corn grain, corn cobs, and corn stalks. It's widely used for pig, chicken, and ruminant feed, also for corn flour and ethanol production.

Particle size control & feed digestibility

 

Different animals need different corn grinding particle size. We follow animal nutrition recommendations and offer matching screen sizes. Check the table:

Our Lvlon series comes standard with two screens (you pick the hole sizes). Screen mesh size options: 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 8.0, 10.0 mm. Change them in seconds – no tools needed.

Energy efficiency – real-world energy consumption per ton

 

Corn grinding usually eats up the most electricity in a feed mill. We tested our LV-420 (11 kW, 4mm screen, corn at 14% moisture).

Energy consumption per ton: 14.2 kWh/t

That's noticeably better than the industry average of roughly 18–20 kWh/t.

Run it 2000 hours a year (output ~1500 kg/h), and you save about 11,000–17,000 kWh compared to typical machines.

Temperature control – preventing starch gelatinization

 

Corn starch starts to gelatinize above 60°C – that hurts digestibility. Our design keeps things cooler:

  • Large curved screen area for better airflow
  • Optimized rotor and hammer arrangement to reduce useless friction
  • Real test: after one hour of continuous grinding (4mm screen, room temp 25°C), discharge temp ≤52°C.
  • Temperature rise ≤27°C – much lower than the usual 35–40°C you see elsewhere. That's real starch gelatinization prevention in action.

Handling high-moisture corn

At harvest, corn moisture can hit 18–24%. Normal grinders block easily. We changed the feed inlet angle and hammer-screen clearance:

Maximum moisture we recommend: 20% (can handle 22% for short periods)

Anti-clogging inlet design, polished inner surface

Optional magnetic separator to pull out iron bits mixed in the corn.

So for high moisture corn grinding, this machine works.

Every machine comes with a Shakron dust collector and two screens. We also offer diesel hammer mill or gasoline engine versions if you need them.
